Bem-vindo ao Rio!
Sunrise over the Olympic Park #nofilter!
Hello from Rio! We've been on the ground in Brazil for over a week now and we're happy to say that Rio 2016 is shaping up to be a great Olympiad. Amid media stories of Zika and doping at home, work at the IBC continues apace, with no sign so far of any airborne pests. Indeed, the hardest part thus far has been getting used to darkness falling by 6pm.
Technical Director Chris Swan and Operations Director Chris Sarson have joined up with the NBC Olympics Venue Engineering team in Rio and will be undertaking EVS Project Management and Avid Interplay Support roles respectively at a wide array of venues across this beautiful city. As we get closer to the games, the sheer scale of NBC's operation becomes clear and we'll be heading out into the venues in the coming days to start setting up equipment that has been months, if not years, in the planning to bring a wide array of sports to an enormous audience in America and throughout the world.
We'll be back throughout the lead-up to the games and throughout the events themselves to give you the inside track on NBC's operations and hopefully give you an insight into the small part we play in the Olympics machine!
