The Open 2017

We're at stop number one of a small tour of the North West of England this week. The Open returns to Royal Birkdale in Southport. 

This is one of the biggest events in broadcasting, and the enormous broadcasters' compound is packed with rights holders from the world over, such is the appeal of this most prestigious of Golf events.

Our role here is two-fold. Firstly, we have supplied a full Avid Interplay-based edit system, using our new Nexis storage. The setup comprises 2 edits and 2 ingest stations, with full EVS integration. Secondly, we're providing our expertise to help our friends at CTV with the EVS IPDirector systems for both NBC and European Tour Productions. There's also the small undertaking of creating an archive of every shot from every player at every hole!

With the action starting in the early hours of yesterday morning, the leaders have already established themselves ahead of the second day's play today.
