Rugby World Cup 2015
4 years ago this week, I was working on the Rugby World Cup as a member of staff at ITV, my last major event for the company. This week, after 4 years away, I've come full circle and am back in my old stomping old at The London Studios, where all of us at The Collectv were once members of staff. Funny how these things work out!
We're here overseeing technical operations with a system and team that we know very well for the opening weekend of the tournament, which has already seen one huge upset as Japan beat South Africa on Saturday afternoon. It's a big EVS and Avid workflow that pulls together the highlights show every night on ITV, as well as managing many hours of incoming feeds from World Cup venues up and down the country. As the tournament's Host Broadcaster, ITV will have a huge hand in how the tournament is seen throughout the world in the next 6 weeks.
It's good to be back at ITV, albeit for a short time, and also great to be part of what promises to be an exciting tournament.
