ITV’s much-loved skating show Dancing On Ice has launched with big viewing figures and The Collectv are proud to be supporting the production on location at their custom-built facility. Our team of Engineers and Media Managers have installed and are supporting Avid Nexis storage systems and EVS integration, whilst managing the exchange of media back to the main edit facility in London. The series runs for 10-weeks and The Collectv will be there for the duration.
The iconic Alexandra Palace hosted the 2019 PDC World Darts Championship and The Collectv were there alongside CTV Outside Broadcasts, supporting Sky Sports’ first ever UHD darts event. This challenging OB involved upgrading the regular system to support 1080p50, with a 10GB network and double the storage, integrated with tailored Adobe and EVS systems. It was the largest 1080p50 event to date for The Collectv, and with UHD technology still developing, required a made-to-measure approach to fulfil the production’s requirements. With the tournament spanning over three weeks, and days covering 10am to midnight, our engineers guaranteed three edit suites and three Producer stations for the Sky Sports team, as well as managing multiple file transfer servers.
Further insight into the event can be found in the SVG article here.
Today sees us begin the final day of this annual Hewlett Packard Enterprise event. Our engineering and media management support staff are on location in Madrid (with our very own HP equipment). This event covers not only a huge physical area but also hundreds of topics, some of which you may never have associated with HPE or its products. Over this three-day event guests have included Nile Rogers, Lewis Hamilton and Daft Punk. Alongside case studies, demos and the networking opportunities it is a big deal in the computing world.

With Hamilton taking his 83rd pole position yesterday and Bottas, his Mercedes team mate alongside, are Mercedes going to run away into the sunset? Or will Vettel regain some honour for Ferrari and give the Scuderia some hope for the 2019 season.
It’s day 1 of the 2018 Ryder Cup at Le Golf National, Paris, France and we are there with NBC & CTV. With a similar set-up and configuration to the British Open earlier in the year, we are running a number of Avid systems with Interplay and EVS integration for a seamless workflow delivering features and turn around VT’s for NBC’s production. As has now become the norm, file transfer to and from NBC’s US locations also has to be taken into account, to ensure content can be shared between NBC Sport’s teams across the pond.
