The 38th Sports Emmy Awards
Throughout our time in Rio last summer, we spent a lot of time joking about how, whilst the Olympics is amazing to be part of, it's very hard work, and how we really, really hoped all the hard work would pay off with another Emmy Award. Well, our prayers were answered, and this week it was announced that the NBC Olympics Engineering team was indeed awarded with the Emmy for 'Outstanding Technical Team Remote', the same award that we won for our work at the Winter Games in Sochi 2014.
Myself and Chris Sarson were both recognised as members of the team that won the award, and of course we're delighted to be honoured in this way again! The Olympics always represents a fantastic opportunity to use the latest technology and deploy some new workflows and it's great that we and our colleagues at NBC continue to be recognised by one of the largest awards bodies in the United States.
It's not long now until we're back on the Olympics trail again, as the road to PyeongChang 2018 starts for us with planning trips to NBC's headquarters in Connecticut in just a few weeks' time.
